 rogram or .8 continuing education credits.\n\n<b>Course Format</b>:\n\
 n1-day Classroom Lecture\n\n<b>Course Description</b>:\n\nSustainable 
 Sites is the initiative designed to complement the LEED green-building
  system. It takes a more in-depth look at the elements necessary to cr
 eate a fully sustainable environment, to develop the environmental fun
 ctions of green infrastructure into urban sites.\n\nThis course builds
  on the Watershed to Water Tap course and will introduce the technique
 s and tools necessary for creating sustainable site including site ana
 lysis, microclimates, site hydrology, landforms, plant selections, dri
 p irrigation, site structures and sustainable landscape materials.\nAt
  the end of the day, the student will be able to:\n\n* Understand basi
 c site analysis, including microclimates and landforms\n* Understand h
 ow to choose climate-appropriate plants, including edible landscapes\n
 * Understand the basics of water on-site; rainwater-harvesting; drip i
 rrigation systems, including hands-on demonstrations\n* Understand how
  to evaluate the sustainability of materials used in the landscape\n* 
 Understand how to optimize site conditions for energy and water conser
 vation, reduced inputs, and habitat enhancement\n\n<b>Instructor Bio</
 b>:\n\nThis course will be taught by Paul Lander, a 28-year veteran of
  water, energy, and land conservation work. Dr. Lander is an instructo
 r at the University of Colorado and for the American Water Works Assoc
 iation, is a LEED Accredited Professional, and member of the American
