I have a 7 month old daughter. My wife and I have purchased washable diapers. However, we have discontinued using them because we live in the mountains and we do not have laundry facilities at our house. My wife used to bring the diapers to my mothers, but that wasn't worth it for her. For a while now we have been using disposable diapers because it is easier. Therefore, I have decided to wash the diapers every week on tuesdays after my morning class at a laundry mat in town, or if I can handle it, at my mother's house. I believe that this will have less of an environmental impact because disposable diapers are landfill waste. I can track the success of this project by comparing the cost of disposable diapers for a month versus the cost of washing diapers for a month. I can also do further research and comparisons on the life cycles (the process and cost of making, length of use, and options after use) of both diapers.
